Feral Cat City

September 16, 2009 by Lloyd 15 Comments

A few years ago, when the Wal*Marts moved to their new building, Lauren and I went exploring around their old digs. Out back, and hidden away among trees and general overgrowth was a thriving city of feral cats. When we were there there were kittens and cats building a thriving metropolis. They had erected shelters and were hunting wild kibble for food. When they saw us coming they threw down their tools and scattered into the wilderness.

Last weekend we went back to visit Feral Cat City. But where once there was a thriving community, there was now just the desolate remains of their culture.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Feral Cat City…

The aproach

The suburbs

The townhouses

The diner

The bed & breakfast

The ghetto

The mysterious last message from Feral Cat City

Is that last message written with coffee grounds? Maybe they discovered caffeine. I think that was the precursor to the downfall of Rome.

I’m quite impressed with their writing abilities… even though I can’t make sense of it. Does it say meow?

You know cats and their bad spelling and grammar. It could say anything.

I was most impressed that there were two camps, each with identical housing items -- one in the woods, one in the deep woods.

I’m sad about the abandonment of Feral Cat City.

Maybe the new feral cat development by Panama Coffee House in town could use the ruins.

I don’t think that last picture is a last message from them, I think it’s gang symbols. Once again, the gangs have ruined a perfectly good neighborhood.

One of Seward’s many gangs of illiterate preschoolers, no doubt.

These camps look eerily familiar…did you hear any strange clicking sounds as you explored? And did the inhabitants move on or were they evicted? Stupid MNU!

Is that a District 9 reference? Because I want to see that movie. There’s a bad movie night coming up next week, and I’m pushing for it.

Interesting. Look at the wood chips and bedding. It looks fresh. I think there might be fowl play here. Someone should check to see if the cats were last seen with the ducks. You should send in the Seward CSI to get to the bottom of this.

I bet it was the rabbits. Unleash Brad!!!!

I thought the wood chips looked suspiciously fresh as well. Maybe it’s Feral Woodchip City now?

Maybe it’s Feral Cat Resort. A vacation destination. And you know, school has started.
