Today I actually got a few things done. Paid some bills, got more of the wallpaper off the kitchen walls, sanded off the extra glue from Mrs. Royuk’s crock (more on that some other post), and finally finished the border in the dining room. Remember that this project was started back in February. Of 2007.
Here’s the story, told in pictures:
There was a line on the wall that Lloyd wrote that I messed up – I wrote ‘to be’ instead of ‘for’. Today, after months and months, it is done.
The spacing is off now, but I’m just going with it.
For Kristi: The rest of it is after the break.
It all came from something I would say at work when it was time to have someone go home because the number of children had gone down. I’d ask someone if they’d rather go home or stay and work. “What’s more important to you – time or money?” In my case, I’ll take time. I love Down Time so much!! Better poor and peaceful than rich and frantic.

Fourteen months isn’t that bad. Some things just take that long. …a camel’s gestation period, for instance.
Hey, you’re like a pregnant camel!
Deanne says
what a comparison, Brad! You’re more like… a very thoughtful person who needs to contemplate and consider before taking action.
(How’s that?)
Lauren says
Due to my fear of pregnancy, couldn’t I just be a really fat camel?
Beth says
Fourteen months ago I was four months pregnant with Tim, and Tara wasn’t quite two and was still in her old room in her crib instead of her new pink room in her big bed…
Fourteen months doesn’t sound like a long time to me …but seems a lot has changed in this house since then…
Kristi says
Can we see the whole border? I don’t know what it says.
Kristi says
Thank you!
Lauren says
You’re most welcome. 🙂

You give me great hope Lauren! I think I’m just going to start something & not worry about “having to get it done”. I don’t start much, because once I do … I feel exposed & uncomfortable until it’s completed. And all I can think about is “that needs to get done” & then I can’t sleep, & then I’m cranky & then I’m sorry I ever started it & then I beg people to help me get finished & then everyone pretends to be busy, so I get mad, then I destroy what I’ve started in a fit of rage & have a bigger mess … Whew … I came so close to starting a project just now.

Beautiful message – and border 🙂

Really like the border, that is some neat writing!
