… I need a costume for the school play today.”
Y’know, when I tell this story in person, I act all complainy, but I secretly love that Lloyd doesn’t decide to participate in the National Lutheran Schools Week dress-up days until the morning of. I asked what today was as we got ready, and he said, “Fake an Injury Day, but I’m not dressing up.” I suggested he put a band-aid on his pinkie, and that got him thinking.
He went searching for his old McDonald’s uniform. (One Halloween, during the college years, Brad and Lloyd were the only ones to dress up at McDonald’s. Brad was a mummy and Lloyd worked drive-thru with a ‘just-been-run-over’ uniform.) We couldn’t find the costume, so at 6:07a.m. we were huddled on the floor with permanent markers, a chevron template, and a shirt & tie.
Done by 6:20.
I loved that McDonald’s costume! I’m glad to see it reproduced in such a fine manner.
But I have to ask: “Fake an Injury Day”?!? What the…?
When I went to where I thought it was stored away, it turned out to me a McDonald’s shirt with a homemade ‘Fish’ advertisement. Wasn’t that the name of John’s band?
This is the first time we’ve done it, and I do’nt know where they came up with it. I was originally going to go with Early Onset Alzheimers, but I couldn’t find my shirt.
Rolling on the floor laughing right now!
Couldn’t find it? Or couldn’t remember where you put it?
I LOVE “Fake an Injury Day”! We should totally do that next year.
BTW: What were some of the injuries the kids came up with?
That is awesome, and I love it. You guys are TOO MUCH! (I secretly wish I had one-eighth of your creativity, but, alas, I’ll just have to be satisfied with living vicariously!)
Thanks for the laugh!!!
You’ll have to do an update on this post. I want to know what the students did for this one.
HAHAHA!! That is too funny!!! LOVE IT!!!
And shew…I’m very releived to learn that Lloyd wasn’t feeling under the weather & Lauren decided to “help” put him out of his misery.
One of the early flags for the Marine Corps had the phrase: Don’t Tread on Me. I guess Lloyd wouldn’t have made it in the Marines.
Lloyd’s hair is too big for the Marines, anyway.
And the beard would have to go.
G.I. Joe has a beard.
G.I. Joe is an action figure. Are you trying to say that you’re an action-man who does special ops?
Of course, one little wrong letter and that could have been “auction-man”, who does special ops.
Well, I do have a beard.
That’s really cool. It looks like so much work, good job at doing it in less than 20min.
Is Cricket still guarding the box?
She’s really going to miss that box.

What were you testing?
He’s changed the innards of our website. How am I supposed to make a post now?
I checked thinking you’d have a post. but you don’t. So I guess I’ll try to settle down and go to bed.
