Happy Easter! The Lord is Risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Speaking of new life, we’ve got our own little spy-on-the-birds event right outside our kitchen window. It’s a good thing Lloyd tied up the holly bush, because a robin couple is making a little home there. I was spying on it Friday, and have taken a couple of secret pictures. Here is mama in the process of building:
Before we went to Lincoln I chanced getting close right after she flew away, and got to see the fresh mud inside. It was fascinating!
Here it is even more close-up:
I was worried then that I might have spooked her into abandoning the nest, but curiosity got the better of me today and I checked again. She had finished the inside, so I think we’re good.
Ironically, the best place for me to spy is hanging out the windows at the top of the stairs, and if there are ever any eggs in the nest, I’ll try to take some photos. Then I’ll go buy a new camera to replace the one I will drop on the patio.
Happy Easter!

That’s cool! It should be great fun to spy on them.
Also, I have to say it: With the bird on your back porch and the bees on mine, we’re posting about the birds and the bees today. Ha!

I thought the same thing! It’s like we’re farmers, only you can get delicious honey from your crop, whereas I could only have a tiny omelet.

Happy Easter everyone!
And what a great bird’s eye view you have of that bird! I can’t wait to see updates! Do you think you’ll put up a robin cam?
We get a nest under our porch every year…but it’s almost impossible to see in it. Nest building is sooo amazing!
