When I’m working, I eat breakfast at home and then breakfast again with the children. I’ve become used to that, so on my days off I get a bit peckish an hour or so after breakfast. Today Brad was working in the garden and I was burning sticks in the chiminea. (I do so love fire.) I wondered, “Surely you can cook an egg in there, right?” Well, turns out you can – as long as you aren’t afraid of ingesting lots and lots of ash.
We split the lone egg, and Brad pronounced it delicious. I pronounced it ‘ehg’.
In other news, Lloyd has been doing some gardening of his own in Texas. He wrote, “Tell Brad to plant me up one of these in our yard.” I think having an agave would be great, since I could brew my own tequila from it. That would be a real timesaver.
Deanne says
I met a cactus in Arizona that kills small animals for sport.
Karla says
Wow! Things really are bigger in Texas! Well, except for Lloyd.
Lloyd says
I’m bigger in Texas too; I’m just further away.
Brad says
Let’s do some chicken next! Never mind the salmonella risk, that just adds to the adventure!
Annette says
Call me when you get to salmon!
kiwe says
I hear roasted rabbit is good!
Annette says
Don’t you mean “clubbed” rabbit?
Dana says
I wonder how big their bacon mats are? mmmm… bacon
Christina says
Our bacon mats are Really Big -- in fact, I would take a picture of one, but it won’t fit on the camera.
Deanne says
HA!
Lauren's dad says
Mom says: it’s called eggs and grits.
Lauren says
Ha!
Kristi says
Did Lloyd only pack one red, Hawaiian shirt?
Deanne says
Nope, there’s a picture on Christina’s blog with a different shirt. So he at least packed two.
