This past week I went to the stomach doctor to see if there is something I can do to start sleeping flat again. He put me on some prescription medicine and will do an endoscope in a couple of weeks. I’m glad to get this all figured out, but there are some persnickety rules with this new medicine – I have to take it half an hour before breakfast and half an hour before dinner.
I thought I had it all figured out until I left the drive-thru of Runza (again) and realized I hadn’t taken the pill and certainly wouldn’t half an hour before I ate. (I was stuffing fries in my mouth already.) I needed to keep pills on my person for times such as this.
Yay! That means shopping!
I surfed the internet, specifically the Sunshine Products USA site, since I knew they made machined pill carriers. As I looked at them, they seemed awfully familiar……
Oh. I had one.
Well, ‘yay’ for re-purposing but ‘boo’ for not getting to buy something new. I took out the lighter insert, scrubbed every last trace of lighter fluid out of the container (hopefully), and threw in some pills.
Good to go.

Janet had a bad stomach thing for a long time. After years of treatment, they found it was some kind of bacteria. She took some pills and it was gone forever. Maybe it’s worth asking her…
But then you’d have to find something else to keep in there. Maybe Tic Tacs? Mmm… Tic Tacs… I like orange the best. Though there’s a new flavor called ‘Wild Cherry’ that’s really good.

How many pills can it hold? If these pills work, does this mean you’ll have to restock constantly, for the rest of your life?
Lauren says
I’ve got 4 in there now, but I think it could hold 6. (Alternately, 2 Tic-Tacs.)
I don’t know about the life thing. They’ll know more after the scope.

Does an endoscope go down your throat? Either way, it doesn’t sound pleasant. Are there some other nice pills you could take during that procedure?
Lauren says
Yes. It’s like a colonoscopy but from the other end. 😉 I’ll be knocked out for that, thank goodness.

Once you’re all done with this, I’ll need the play-by-play…for when I have to do all this.
For now, I’m just letting my HSA get nice a big…
