I don’t know if we mentioned that Charles has moved back to town. He’s been hankering for some vacation-style fun so he, Beth and Harold came over for a game of Settlers of Catan. I sat upstairs and watched television. Ahhh….. television. The banner picture is from Lloyd’s bag of cheap chips. The chip makers left the scraps in the bag.
Anyway, later in the evening Kris nee Keister, her husband and family (and the Potratzes*) came over. She has a daughter old enough to start college soon (yikes!) and they are here to visit Concordia.
I would like to congratulate myself on not actually getting Kris’s smile in this shot. Sheesh, now I am the doofus.
Charles is the Director of Student Life now, and in charge of discipline on campus, so we reminisced about Kris’s many college pranks:
* Taking everything out of a friend’s room, including the loft, and setting it up in the entryway to the dorm.
* Filling Charles’s apartment floor with Dixie cups filled with water.
* Tying dormroom doors together all down the hallway.
We’re sure that she got in ‘trouble’ for these, but more in a kind of head-shaking “Oh, Kris” kind of way. We’re also sure that there are more stories, and are going to count on Deborah to tell some. You got that, Deb? Kristi, I imagine you might know some, too.
* Charles says the plural of Potratz is Potratzi.
Brad says
Wow. That’s just all kinds of memory lane.
And those chips are amazing.

Here is a more adorable picture. 🙂
Kristi says
Was Kris the one who decided we should sleep atop Dorcas or Esther one evening? I recall hauling mattresses to the roof.
Deborah says
Let’s just say that I never left my room without locking it and securing the keys on my person. No one was safe.
Kristi says
And since Kris is married to a respectable man, a pastor, have those pranks come to a grinding halt???
Peggy says
Chip Art…. I bet you could sell that shot on ebay!
And how nice to visit with friends from the past!
Deborah says
There was the middle of the night raid on David (the whole dorm). That took several of us. Not sure who all was involved. But it was successful. The only person that saw us was a freshman. We told her we were maintenance. She believed us.
Kris says
I just got home… how fun to see the memories:) The prank on David dorm was classic -- so many floors, so little time. And yes, Kristi, we did sleep on top of one of the dorms, although I’m pretty sure that was Gloria’s idea. And the raid we did on Charles’ apartment, although that was actually Florence’s idea. As I look at this list, I’m pretty sure I wasn’t the instigator you all seem to think I was:)
