All photos in this post are a re-enactment. No clothes were harmed in the making of this post. Well, except for the shirt, which was violently snapped.
So, if you’re like me and all your shirts come from Target, they are all made mostly of cotton. If you’re like me and obsessively hang up your shirts to dry when still damp, you won’t often have wrinkled shirts. However, once in a while something happens, and there are wrinkles. Drat you, wrinkles.
Hanging stuff up in a bathroom with a steamy shower has never worked for me. (I think because my technique is wrong.) I remembered seeing a commercial along time ago for Downy wrinkle releaser, and thinking that that was a lot of money to pay for a bottle of lazy.
Hmmmm… wouldn’t just plain water work? Water is free, y’know. Steam is made of water, and all those people swear by that.
Well, yes it does! Grab yourself a spray bottle, spritz, snap, done! (You might have to spritz twice, but it’s still faster than getting out the iron. Or taking a shower.)
I have no idea if it works with non-Target shirts, but I would assume it would.
I wanted to show you the super-expensive, uber-technical tripod that I used for this series, but some goofy-haired doofus walked into my shot.

Now that’s a sturdy tripod alright. That toilet tissue looks very architectural. Are they Scott Mega Rolls?
Lauren says
I believe they are Charmin, though my personal preference is for Scott Mega rolls. 🙂

If I know about wrinkles before I’ve showered in the morning, I don’t completly dry off after showering. Then I put my shirt on while I’m still wet. The water dampens my clothes, and my body presses out the wrinkles.
Peggy says
HA! (are you being serious)
Brad says
Yes. I don’t know how many spray bottles I’ve bought. I use them to spray pesticides and herbicides, then I don’t remember what’s in them, so I throw them away. Even if I just got one for water, I’d still be suspicious.
Peggy says
Dang, that is like magic!! I’ve always ironed or been sure to remove such things as soon as the dryer shuts off so I can fold while hot & mush out any wrinkles. I have to try this new wonderous method.
(And that is a really cute picture of Lloyd!! I can’t decide if I like that he looks so innocent OR that he has a little boy ‘What, I didn’t do it’ look on his face.) (Also, Lauren has gorgeous hair! Gorgeous! Thick & shiny!)
Kristi says
Gotta agree with Peggy -- cute picture of Lloyd. He’s like a boyish Keebler elf with such a happy countenance. Perhaps he’s thinking, “Oh, I’d really like to take the wrinkles out of that shirt for you, my Queen.”
Lloyd says
I prefer to think of myself as a doofy haired goofus.
