Old Photos

When Kristi and Joanna were here a while back, we got out the old yearbooks and had a little walk down memory lane. Ah, the late 80’s – what a great time!

That’s Karla sitting at the piano. That’s me sitting on top. Karla was awesome for many reasons, but the best was that she had dozens and dozens of bottles of pop (Dr. Pepper?) in her room earned by spending her lunch money at our little eatery, “Con-Te-Co”. You opened my eyes to the intricacies of bartering for pop, Karla. Thank you.

Check out those tapered jeans!

Here’s Lloyd’s evil twin, Paco. This was during Homecoming in 1991, I believe. We were in charge of Casino night. You can’t see any of the stuff, but this was my first experience with ‘building’ stuff. I made a kissing booth out of the cheapest, thinnest wood – I think they were veneer panels – and teeny tiny nails. It rocked! (….and was terribly, terribly rickety.)

Si, senor. I will take your money.

Things didn’t go so well after I got married, though. Here’s a shot of me narrating some country song for our lip sync contest. It was shortly after I turned into Michael Jackson.
I'm the King of Pop.

There are other photos, but that’s for another time.

In that first black and white photo I think that’s me in the lower right corner diving for the soccer ball. Aren’t I remembering correctly that I was really good at soccer?

I can name 9 people (first and last name) in the very top photo. How many can you name?

Hey, that is me at the piano! I remember that day.

And yes Lauren, it was Dr. Pepper that I got at Conteco. It was the only pop they had there that I would drink at room temperature, and since I didn’t have a refrigerator, that’s what I had to get…

You guys had so much more fun in college than I did. I think I will encourage my kids to go to small colleges.

I have to say, college rocked. I was just thinking the other day that of all my friends that I’m in contact with, most of the ones that I met in high school, I also went to college with. You, Deanne, are an exception. ;)

More pictures…more stories!!! Dnag Lloyd…you look EXACTLY the same (@#&*)…as I’m sure Lauren & Karla do too. I hate you all for that.

My hair’s not curly anymore. But I was tall in college, and I’m still tall now. :D In fact, I’m finally taller than my dad! But I think he’s shrinking instead of me getting taller…

I just got to a computer. I won’t attempt last names because I know some and not others:
Myrna, Todd or Tom, some dude, Kris, ???Lana???, Dork-o, some dude, some chick, Steve, Steve’s sister, some people, and Karen.

      Am I right?

The dude in the yellow jacket is me. I LOVED that jacket. But I don’t remember getting rid of it. Maybe I stopped wearing it when I stopped playing soccer.

Hee hee. I knew it was you – I had it captioned correctly, but I forgot that some people might not be able to see it. :)

Sorry, Brad – star player of the Concordia Yellow Jackets. “Feel the STING of their wrath!!”

            What did your caption say?

I often wonder if I was in college with you all…do you think we would have been in the same group. Mind you I had absolutely no musical talent whatsoever.

Sorry, honey, but I think this photo was before my time
